With a career spanning over 30 years in the movie industry, Karlin’s journey in film and television began after graduating from the University of New Orleans with a BA in Drama/Communications. She took on background and featured extra roles and eventually transitioned to working behind the camera as a PA. This diverse experience provided her with valuable insights into the filmmaking process, enhancing her understanding of the craft.

In pursuit of her passion for voiceover work, she had her first demo produced in 2004. This venture allowed her to explore a different facet of her talent, leading to voiceover jobs for commercials, audio books, promotions, and on-hold message greetings, among others. By honing her skills in voice acting, she further expanded her repertoire as an actress.

Despite her success in voiceover work, she still maintains a love for working in front of the camera. Recently, she showcased her acting abilities as a talent for law firms, portraying their "injured" client. This demonstrates her versatility and ability to bring characters to life convincingly.

Furthermore, her previous roles as a Concierge and a Sales Manager in the Hotel Industry in her hometown of New Orleans have contributed to her talent as an actress. The experience gained from these roles allows her to provide authentic recommendations to friends and family on where to eat, drink, stay, and play in the historical Crescent City. This knowledge of diverse experiences and places enriches her ability to bring depth and realism to her performances.
